Senior Cloud Engineer
Admiralty, Hong Kong Island · Information TechnologyWe are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team to help us develop, operate, and maintain our cloud infrastructure. As a cloud engineer you will be responsible for creating and implementing cloud solutions. You will need to collaborate with all members of the technology team to ensure that our cloud infrastructure is secure, reliable, highly available and has a support model that is embedded within the team. You will drive the overall cloud roadmap but also be the lead engineer implementing cloud hosting solutions.
We are looking for someone who passionate about the cloud but who can determine the right use cases so we can ensure that is leveraging the full benefits while making sure it is done in a cost-conscious manner.

Responsibilities
- Develop a scalable cloud infrastructure that meets the needs of a growing business
- Take a hands-on approach in leading projects that follow a cloud first approach
- Build end-to-end knowledge of the overall IT infrastructure so that clear decisions can be made in determining when cloud adoption is appropriate
- Fully document cloud designs, technical standards and supporting procedures to ensure cloud solutions are embedded and understood by the technology team
- Provide regular reporting around capacity, availability, cost analysis, licensing, and overall performance of the cloud infrastructure
- Identity when working with external vendors, such as Microsoft, is appropriate while ensuring that the support model is embedded in day-to-day operations
- Champion the use of cloud technologies within the technology team and broader business
- Make recommendations around process improvements that are built around cloud automation
- Ensure that any cloud solutions are implemented in line with security policies
- Stay up to date on new products, as they come to market, and provide recommendations for further adoption
Requirements
- 8+ years relevant experience
- 3+ years in Financial Services industry preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- In-depth knowledge of cloud computing principles, architectures, and best practices
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
- Strong technical and architectural experience with Azure and M365.
- Azure professional qualifications preferred
- Experience with other cloud providers such as AWS and GCP preferred
- Experience with cloud tools and services such as Terraform
- Experience with networking technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and SSL
- Experience with security standards and best practices such as NIST
- A strong leader who can guide and mentor other team members
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize affectively
