Network & Unified Communications Engineer

Description of Job Responsibilities:
Job Purpose:
Enterprise information and technology is in a transformative period.  The explosion of data tied to the ubiquity of digital technologies and services available to consumers is changing the expectations of senior leaders, employees, customers and patients.  People want access to information, from any place, on any device, at any time of day or night. These challenges require IT to significantly uplift its technology and information skillsets to meet the rapidly accelerating information and technology demands of new markets, new products and new divisions. To address this challenge, IT has established a three hub model in Singapore, Branchburg and Prague to provide a follow-the-sun operational model leveraging networked teams that can work virtually with business clients and other IT colleagues across all geographies and divisions.  

The Network Specialist is required to support the operation, planning and execution of projects in line with IT strategies related to Network. Services supported include but not limited to LAN, WAN, Wireless, Firewall, Load Balancer, VPN, Network Optimization, DNS. It also requires a strong ability to collaborate with stakeholders across Managed partners, IT functional groups and Business. We are looking for someone who is capable of supporting our market while working in a dynamic global environment operating in a 24/7 follow the sun model, with a broad understanding of Data Network technologies as well as wide exposure to complex global network infrastructure setup. The individual will need to demonstrate sound technical knowledge, good communication and good operational mindset.

Primary Activities/Responsibilities:
•    Support the overall quality of the managed services and ensure adherence to service levels.
•    Act as technical escalation expert in one or many of the Data Network technology areas. 
•    Troubleshoot complex network issues or major incidents globally.
•    Escalate issues that require executive attention.
•    Will be directly responsible for the implementation of network projects and also oversee projects being implemented by the Managed Services provider.
•    Work with technical teams and business teams when developing standardized network solution and communication plans to provide an optimal end user experience.
•    Adhere to project management and ITIL best practices and methodologies across projects and service delivery while meeting time-lines, budgets and business deliverables. 
•    Ensure services or products are onboarded into operation following standard processes
•    Involve in other related global & regional initiatives and duties as directed by the management

5% - 10%

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
    We are seeking professionals with the following qualifications, skills and experience:

Education level:
•    Education: BSc Degree or equivalent with relevant experience in Computer Science, Data Communications, Math, or equivalent experience

Experience/Technical Skills:
•    Mimimum 5 years in providing technical operation support and service delivery in Data Network and Unified Communication areas 
•    Able to converse well in Japanese is a must
•    Good knowledge with Cisco, F5 and Pulse Secure
•    Familiar with ITIL processes or similar best practices (Eg; Change, Incident, Problem management)
•    Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and repairing complex data network problems. 
•    Strong working knowledge in WAN Routing, LAN Switching, WAN Acceleration, Wireless LAN, Load Balancing, VPN and DNS is a must
•    Experience with Data Center technologies (OTV, Fabric Path, VDC, VPC, ACI), Perimeter Security (Cisco ASA, SourceFire, Palo Alto, Pulse Secure) and Cloud networks (AWS & Azure) will be an advantage
•    Experience with Global IT operations following the sun support
•    Ability to deliver projects effectively
•    Industry recognized certifications such as CISSP, CCNA/CCNP/CCIE is an added advantage
•    Excellent communication and negotiation skills within a matrix organization 
•    Fluent in English, in both verbal and written communication
•    Responsible and able to work under pressure with limited supervision
•    Ability to create positive relationships at all levels across different groups & teams. 
•    Able to manage changing priorities and working on tight deadlines
•    Experience with working across technical teams and business teams to achieve common objectives and good customer experience.
