We are hiring for the role of Infrastructure Operations Lead to oversee the and manage Business Information Systems at our global life-science client. This person in this role will work closely with with the Managed Service Provider and global IT teams to design, implement, and continuously improve end-user support operations and infrastructure services in Japan.
Responsibilities
IT Operations & Delivery:
- Implement ITSM best practices to run efficient and effective Information systems support processes and services.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance the end-user experience, collaboration, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to IT operations, staying up to date with new network technology.
- Implement risk management strategies to mitigate operational and cybersecurity risks.
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions to streamline processes.
- Assess coordination and integration of efforts among operations, technology, and customer service to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
- Evaluate current technology use and needs of the company and recommend software and hardware improvements.
- Work closely with other department pillars to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company’s network.
- Communicate with end users on new technology enhancements & changes in partnership with global infrastructure leadership.
- Assist in managing the licensing and cost for end-user productivity applications.
- Stay current on technical innovations and explore ways to harness new technology to improve infrastructure processes, user productivity, information services, and cost
- Review, analyze, and evaluate business procedures with quantitative and qualitative metrics to evaluate the company’s efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support long-term planning to enhance company goals, identifying opportunities to expand or shift strategy based on market changes.
Infrastructure Engineering & Support:
- Provide hands-on desktop support to end-users to resolve PC, hardware & software issues
- Support the deployment, maintenance, and tracking of technology assets, including laptops, iPads, mobile devices and other peripherals.
- Assist in maintaining global assets and software management processes, as well as IT inventory management.
- Design and automate regular reporting processes to track network health and system statuses.
- Provide end-user training when needed
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of technical experience in infrastructure operations, IT desktop and end user support.
- Proficient knowledge of IT best practices, policies and regulations
- In-depth understanding of computer science, cybersecurity principles, client/server & cloud-based technologies and network architecture.
- Willingness to be strategic and hands-on as required.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to direct and oversee others
- Adaptable to a dynamic and geographically dispersed project environment.
- Excellent time management & organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and competitive advantage.
- High analytical capability with history of leveraging data and analytical techniques to optimize business decisions.
Nice to Have Experience
- Experience in the biotechnology/ life-science domain.
- Project management (PMP) and ITIL certifications.
